Tobacco Regulatory, Experimental and Clinical Science Lab
We follow a team science model with collaborators in the fields of psychology, epidemiology, biostatistics, environmental health, health communications, chemistry, biochemistry and cancer biology. Recent NIH-funded research has focused on electronic cigarettes, dissolvable tobacco and waterpipe smoking.
Our lab is also dedicated to training the next generation of tobacco researchers. Over the last five years, TRECS alumni have gone on to prestigious graduate programs, clinical psychology internships/residencies and post-doctoral fellowships. TRECS trainees and staff frequently give oral and poster presentations at regional, national and international conferences.
With our research and training, we hope to contribute knowledge urgently needed by the scientific community, public health officials and regulatory authorities to effectively regulate tobacco products in a way that best serves individual and public health.
