Who We Are
The OSUCCC – Zheng Lab team is led by internationally recognized cancer research specialist and principal investigator Qingfei Zheng, PhD.
Dr. Zheng and his team focus on research that strives to understand the mechanisms of cancer-related metabolic disorders and epigenetic dysregulation, which increasing evidence shows is a common factor in how and why cancer forms.
Dr. Zheng serves as an assistant professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology and Center for Cancer Metabolism at The Ohio State University. He is also a member of the Translational Therapeutics Program at the OSUCCC – James.
His work has been published in a number of peer-reviewed scientific journals, including Nature Chemical Biology, Nature Communications, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the U.S.A., Protein & Cell, Cell Chemical Biology, and ACS Chemical Biology.

Collaboration with Other Ohio State Labs, National and International Research Teams
The nationally and internationally recognized Zheng Microbiome Metabolism & Cancer Epigenetics Lab research team is working to get us closer to a cancer-free world by facilitating the development of new individualized, targeted treatments by applying chemical and synthetic biology approaches.
The Zheng Lab is a chemical synthetic biology lab comprising chemists and biologists from interdisciplinary fields who are interested in cancer metabolism, human microbiota and epigenetics.
When recruiting for the lab, Dr. Zheng looks for researchers who are curious, display innovative thinking and have a passion for cancer research. When partnering and collaborating with other researchers, Dr. Zheng looks for common interests in science and complementary levels of expertise, skillsets and ideas.
