The Clinical Translational Science Shared Resource (CTSSR) offers the following instruments and equipment and provides state-of-the-art preclinical, clinical, and translational research support services to investigators for targets discovery, biomarkers identification and validation and underlying molecular mechanistic studies, to facilitate the monitoring of clinical trials and the development of novel cellular and immune-based therapies.
- Luminex MAGPIX: Luminex-based Luminex MAGPIX multiplexing protein and RNA biomarkers profiling/quantitation provides high-throughput, rapid and accurate technologies profiling proteins & RNA biomarkers from wide range of samples: fresh or frozen tissues (animal or plant), whole blood, plasma, serum, urine, ascites, saliva, and other body fluids, cultured cells, bacteria, and viruses, FFPE tissues.
- Seahorse XFe24 Analyzer: The Agilent Seahorse XFe-24 accurately measures mitochondrial respiration and glycolysis energy pathways in live cells in real time using label-free and solid-state sensor cartridge in a microplate format, such as determination of oxygen consumption rate (OCR) and extracellular acidification rate (ECAR). The plate accommodates 24 individual wells, and up to 4 different test compounds/drugs can be injected separately into each well of real-time kinetic experiment. This technology enables you to connect physiological traits in cells with Genomic and Proteomic data to generate new insights into Obesity, Diabetes and Metabolic Disorders, Cancer Research, Immunology, Cardiovascular and Neurodegenerative function, Mitochondrial Disease Research, Experimental Therapeutics and Safety Toxicity.
- Promega Maxwell RSC: The Maxwell automated nucleic acid purification instrument is used together with cartridge-based purification kits to quickly extract DNA or RNA from many different sample types. - Invitrogen Countess II FL Automated Cell Counter: This Automated Cell Counter contain advanced autofocusing and counting algorithms to allow you to count cells and provide the cell viability quickly and accurately.
- NanoDrop Spectrophotometer: This spectrophotometer quickly determines the concentration of RNA, DNA or protein using an extremely small sample volume, and provides absorbance ratios to quantify derivative specimens.
