The OSUCCC – James is home to a leading digital pathology program, including one of the world’s largest collections of whole-slide images.
Our digital pathology team offers a number of services, most importantly digitizing more than 2,400 slides daily. Since the Digital Pathology Scan Center’s inception in 2017, our digital pathology experts have produced almost 3 million whole-slide images, representing over 300,000 patients — and nearly every type of tissue and disease dating back to 2011.
By converting glass slides into high-resolution digital images, we accelerate the diagnostic process, erase distance, ease consultation and enable new and better ways of examining specimens. The creation of this archive by this team of specially trained experts at the OSUCCC – James serves as a valuable resource for patient care, educational training and medical research.
