During your cancer treatment, there may be times when symptoms arise outside of your regular appointments that require medical attention. Sometimes these problems or symptoms can be managed by calling your doctor and sometimes they require immediate medical attention.
Some of the cancer conditions that may require emergency or immediate medical attention are:
- Treatment-associated infection
- Dehydration
- Fever
- Tumor lysis syndrome
- Surgical complications such as bowel or kidney obstruction
- Pain and weakness
