Managing Life With Cancer

Cancer Survivors Month

Throughout June, which is National Cancer Survivors Month, the OSUCCC – James will honor the millions of adults and children with a history of cancer who are living in the United States today.

Cancer Survivors Month

Here at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute (OSUCCC – James), we believe that cancer survivorship should be celebrated. Throughout Cancer Survivors Month, JamesCare for Life hosts a variety of free in person and virtual programs for cancer survivors, caregivers and family members. View the full list of events below.

Additional Resources for Cancer Survivors

JamesCare for Life provides free supportive programs for cancer survivors, caregivers and community members that focus on the physical, emotional, practical, and spiritual ways that life is changed by cancer diagnosis and treatment. Our programs are designed to empower survivors and caregivers by providing education, support, and coping tools that aid health and well-being.

We understand that JamesCare for Life programs alone cannot alleviate the lifelong physical and emotional challenges, or side-effects, from cancer treatment. The Cancer Supportive Care Clinic will help you manage these issues and provide you with information and resources to improve quality of life and general well-being.

The H.O.P.E. Program connects cancer patients or caregivers to someone who has had a similar experience with cancer. Matched individuals can decide how often and in what ways to communicate with one another – whether by phone, in person or other means. Our volunteers receive training in providing appropriate peer support.
