Art-Based Programs
Art-based programs are designed to help survivors deepen insight, provide inspiration, manage stress and improve overall sense of well-being through engaging in art making with others. A variety of rotating themes and art methods are used. Previous art experience is not required. Art programs are funded in part by the Joyce Kerze Foundation.
Healing Through Art
In this monthly program, survivors utilize a variety of art modalities to promote self-care around themes such as resilience, peace, mindfulness and finding joy.
Music-Based Programs
Music-based programs are designed to introduce survivors and their caregivers to ways of using music more purposefully to improve quality of life. Music instruments are provided and no previous music experience is required. Music programs are funded in part by the Margaret and Frank White MusicCare Fund.
Monthly Workshops
Monthly workshops introduce survivors and caregivers to the variety of ways that music and music therapy may be helpful in managing common survivorship challenges. Workshop themes rotate throughout the year and include topics surrounding healthy sleeping habits, dealing with pain, managing stress and music-based popular health claims.
Music Groups
Our monthly music groups provide survivors and caregiver the opportunity to foster empowerment and a sense of community by sharing in the joy of music- making. These groups may also perform at various events throughout the year.
- Victory Drummers – Use Djembe drums to explore a wide range of musical styles, genres, and drumming traditions. Prior drumming skills are not required. Drums will be provided, or you are welcome to bring your own.
- Victory Choir – Learn to sing and perform in the company of other cancer survivors and caregivers. A varied repertoire of pop, classical, folk, jazz and world music will be sung. Prior singing experience is not required.
