COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute (OSUCCC – James) has received the Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award for Patient Experience. This is the eighth consecutive year the hospital has received this honor, which recognizes the top 5% of healthcare facilities in the nation for sustained patient experience excellence during a single year. Press Ganey is a healthcare-performance organization that works with more than 41,000 healthcare facilities. The Pinnacle of Excellence Award for Patient Experience specifically recognizes the top performers in each category based on performance and extraordinary achievement in designated award survey measures representing three years of data. The Guardian of Excellence Award for Patient Experience goes to organizations that have achieved the 95th percentile or higher for any of a set of designated Healthcare Providers and System (HCAHPS) measures, including likelihood to recommend, overall rating and/or teamwork. Two separate awards are given for HCAHPS and inpatient measures. The OSUCCC – James was awarded a Press Ganey Pinnacle of Excellence Award for Patient Experience in Inpatient Care for maintaining high levels of excellence within inpatient service over consecutive years. This is the fifth consecutive year the hospital has received this award designation. In addition, the hospital was recognized with a Press Ganey Pinnacle of Excellence Award® for Patient Experience in HCAHPS for maintaining high levels of excellence over consecutive years.
