COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Daniel J. Zwayer Memorial Golf Tournament will be held at 12:30 p.m. Sept. 19 to raise money for brain cancer research at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute (OSUCCC-James). The fourth annual tournament will be held at the Royal American Links Golf Club, 3300 Miller-Paul Road in Galena, Ohio and includes a shotgun start, two-person string scramble and a southern-style barbeque dinner. Tina Husted, wife of State Senator Jon Husted, along with her brothers Dr. Mick Zwayer and Chad Zwayer, organized the tournament to honor her father, Dan Zwayer, who died of brain cancer in November 2006. Proceeds will benefit brain cancer research at Ohio State’s Comprehensive Cancer Center – James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute led by Dr. E. Antonio Chiocca, chair of the neurological surgery department at Ohio State University Medical Center and holder of the Dardinger Family Endowed Chair in Oncological Neurosurgery.
