Created in 2009, The James Hope Awards Program is just one of the many meaningful ways the Government Affairs, External Relations and Advocacy Department facilitates high-level recognition of Ohio’s commitment to support the exceptional and internationally renowned cancer care delivery, education and research found at the OSUCCC – James.
Criteria for the awards include advocacy, collaboration, innovation and leadership, and past recipients have included such notable community, regional, state and national advocates as:
- U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown
- Former U.S. Representative Pat Tiberi
- Alan Brass
- State Senator Scott Oelslager
- Former James Cancer Hospital Operating Board Chair Robert Massie
The award is named for The James’ Statue of Hope, created by renowned sculptor Alfred Tibor.
