The James Hope Awards Program

Created in 2009, The James Hope Awards Program is just one of the many meaningful ways the Government Affairs, External Relations and Advocacy Department facilitates high-level recognition of Ohio’s commitment to support the exceptional and internationally renowned cancer care delivery, education and research found at the OSUCCC – James.

Criteria for the awards include advocacy, collaboration, innovation and leadership, and past recipients have included such notable community, regional, state and national advocates as:

  • U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown
  • Former U.S. Representative Pat Tiberi
  • Alan Brass
  • State Senator Scott Oelslager
  • Former James Cancer Hospital Operating Board Chair Robert Massie

The award is named for The James’ Statue of Hope, created by renowned sculptor Alfred Tibor.
