The Destination Medicine team at the OSUCCC – James is dedicated to ensuring that distance and language are no obstacles to receiving the internationally recognized care available only here at The James.

The world-renowned experts at the OSUCCC – James are transforming the way cancers are prevented, detected, treated and, yes, cured.

Cancer is complex, and today, cancer is no longer solely defined by location or even by stage – there is no routine cancer. Each patient’s cancer is different, acting and reacting differently to the bodies they are in and the treatments aimed at stopping them.

Mission

At the OSUCCC – James, our mission is to provide the highest level of compassionate, discreet, respectful and expert service – all through a single point of access and in the patient’s preferred language – not just for Ohioans, but also for patients who may live out of state or outside of the United States.

To deliver the most effective cancer prevention, detection, diagnosis and treatment, our world-renowned experts identify and understand cancer at the molecular and genetic levels, unlocking the genetic and molecular code of a patient’s cancer and pinpointing what makes each cancer grow – then discovering what stops it.

Our internationally recognized teams of cancer specialists, sub-specialists and super sub-specialists span a broad range of disciplines: from medical, surgical and radiation oncologists to molecular and biological pathologists, genetic scientists and more – all specializing in cancer research, prevention, detection, treatment and cures. In fact, our physician experts actually help write the U.S. national clinical guidelines for treating specific cancers.

It is that sub-specialization and singular focus that enables us to discover, develop and deliver the most targeted therapies for each patient. And that means our collective expertise leads to improved outcomes, faster responses, fewer side effects and more hope for cancer patients everywhere.
