Art Program

We hope the artwork inspires our patients and visitors as much as it inspires the dedicated people who work at The James each day. We have a rotating Art Gallery and an exceptional permanent collection of art.

Art Program

    Rotating Exhibits in The James Art Gallery

    The James Art Gallery rotates exhibits every 8 weeks, with each show running 6 weeks in duration. The gallery is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and late for First Tuesdays of the Month from 9a.m.-7p.m.

    If you are interested in exhibiting your artwork in The James Art Gallery, please review the Exhibition Request Guidelines for more information on how to apply. You will need to include a portfolio of the artwork you would like to exhibit with your form. The James Art Program Strategic Steering Committee will review all portfolio submissions.

    The Permanent Collection

    Blue Skies Art Installation

    We hope the artwork inspires our patients and visitors as much as it inspires the dedicated people who work at The James each day. The James permanent art collection extends from the hospital’s Conference Level to the 21st floor Family Lounge.

    Most areas containing artwork are always accessible to the public, with a few exceptions: artwork in the Patient and Family Resource Center on the Ground Floor, the Administration Suite on the 9th floor and the Bloch Café on the 14th floor.

    The Resource Center is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.- 4:30 p.m., the Administration Suite is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.- 6 p.m. and the Bloch Café is open daily from 7 a.m.- 9:45 a.m. and 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Artwork in these three locations may not be viewed after hours. In addition, some artwork is located within conference rooms. Please do not enter those rooms while meetings are taking place.

    If you are interested in donating artwork, please review the guidelines and fill out the Artwork Donation Request Form, one piece per form.
