Addressing Barriers in Appalachia Ohio

The Center for Cancer Health Equity aims to reduce breast cancer health disparities among African-American and minority/underserved females in Franklin County and rural/Appalachian women by offering screenings, education and screening referrals. In an effort to reduce the health disparity in breast cancer, the program provides: 1) on-site mobile mammography screening services at convenient community locations; 2) culturally tailored information to educate women about breast cancer prevention and early detection; and 3) information on local resources and provide patient navigation support as needed.

As part of the BHC project, The James mobile mammography unit will be in the counties listed below.

Please fill out the form or call 1-844-384-PINK (7465) for more information about scheduling a mammogram in your area.

The BHC is funded by grants from the Breast and Cervical Cancer project of Southeast Ohio, the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine, The Ohio State University Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute and Susan G. Komen Columbus.
