State of the Cancer Program Address

Michael Caligiuri, MD highlights how the OSUCCC – James is changing the landscape of cancer care of research in the 2016 State of the Cancer Program Address on November 9, 2016

Each year, Michael Caligiuri, MD, Director of The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center and CEO of the Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute, presents Ohio State's cancer program's accomplishments from the past year and looks forward to a future as we work together to create a cancer-free world.

In Dr. Caligiuri’s words, “A multidisciplinary ‘army’ of thousands around Ohio State’s campus and beyond—researchers, clinicians, nurses, geneticists, therapists, administrators, dietitians, cooks, custodians, volunteers, and more, who are connected to the cancer program—is working to rid the world of this disease in its many forms.”

“There is no routine cancer, and there will never be routine ways to prevent, detect, treat and cure it,” he explains. “But at the OSUCCC – James, we’re making progress in identifying molecular elements within individual cancers so we can target them for treatment.”
