For High School Students

At The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute (OSUCCC – James), our team of physicians, researchers, scientists and educators combine their collective expertise to bring engaging, thoughtful programs and hands-on opportunities to high school students in the central Ohio area.

Our world-renowned experts often partner with area high schools to offer exciting programs designed to deepen students’ cancer-science knowledge, broaden their awareness of cancer career opportunities and help them build long-term relationships with leading Ohio State faculty members.

CREATES High School Summer Program

CREATES is an eight-week funded summer research experience for rising high school seniors from underrepresented in medicine (URM) backgrounds.

Lawrence Kirschner, MD, PhD

CAMELOT Director

Lawrence Kirschner


Dr. Kirschner is a physician-scientist and clinical endocrinologist who specializes in treating patients with pituitary and adrenal tumors. He is also the director of the CAMELOT Program and a member of the Cancer Biology Program at the OSUCCC – James.
