The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center (OSUCCC) is a network of five interdisciplinary, cancer-related research programs

These programs collectively comprise more than 300 highly trained researchers and scientists representing 11 of the 15 colleges at Ohio State – all with the shared goal to understand what makes each patient’s cancer grow, spread or reoccur by utilizing basic, clinical, prevention and population research that translates to innovative, leading-edge care and cancer-prevention strategies.

The OSUCCC is one of only 51 CCCs in the nation as designated by the National Cancer Institute (NCI). The designation was most recently renewed in 2015, when NCI rated Ohio State’s cancer program as Exceptional, the highest descriptor.

Additionally, the OSUCCC – James is one of only a handful of U.S. cancer centers that is NCI-funded to conduct phase I and phase II clinical trials. These trials go only to centers that demonstrate an exemplary capacity for research and clinical care, the expertise to deliver the latest treatments, and the infrastructure to interpret and track results.

Because of these phase I and phase II approvals, the OSUCCC - James experts can move research discoveries into clinical trials faster and get them to patients sooner.
