The focus of my laboratory is the study of intracellular signaling via soluble factors and exosomes, and the integration of these signals, at the single cell-level within breast cancer cells and the tumor microenvironment. We aim to determine how these events contribute to the rapid induction of cellular plasticity, phenotypic heterogeneity, and the transient acquisition of undesirable cells states (e.g. growth, drug resistance) so that they can be addressed pharmacologically to improve patient outcomes.
