Chandrani Sarkar, PhD, is a member of the Translational Therapeutics Program at the OSUCCC – James, where her research focuses on investigating the role of endogenous neuromediators in modulating the microenvironment during metastatic cancer progression.

More specifically, Dr. Sarkar is interested in understanding the molecular mechanisms that modify the tumor microenvironment, thereby leading to tumor progression and recurrence, and using this knowledge to develop treatment strategies. Her lab is studying the role of neuropeptide Y (NPY) in promoting angiogenesis and the growth and progression of colon cancer.

Dr. Sarkar has co-authored numerous articles in well-known publications, including Angiogenesis, American Journal of Pathology, and International Journal of Cancer. She also serves on the editorial board of Scientific Reports and Pathology Clinical & Medical Research and is a member of the American Association for Cancer Research.
