Dr. Owen is a medical oncologist specializing in treating patients with thoracic malignancies, including lung cancer, mesothelioma and thymic cancers. His research interests include the use of immunotherapy in patients with thoracic cancers, and developing ways to better identify patients who are likely to benefit from these treatments while minimizing toxicities. With the mentorship of David Carbone, MD, PhD and Gregory Otterson, MD, I have written several early phase trials for patients with thoracic malignancies, including a multi-center phase II trial of immunotherapy in early stage non-small cell lung cancer.
