Floor Backes, MD, is a tenure-track assistant professor in the Division of Gynecologic Oncology, and member of the Cancer Control Program at the OSUCCC – James, through which she conducts research to reduce incidence, mortality and morbidity of cancer. She has a strong interest in Lynch syndrome and mismatch repair deficiency in endometrial cancer, biomarker development and novel treatment for endometrial (uterine) and ovarian cancer, including surgery and chemotherapy through investigator initiated studies.
Dr. Backes’ recently published research has included sentinel lymph nodes in endometrial and cervical cancer, treatment for gynecologic cancers, predictors of cancer outcomes, and postoperative complications of robotic hysterectomies in obese patients with endometrial cancer.
Her research has been published in Gynecologic Oncology, Journal of Clinical Oncology, Cancer, International Journal of Gynecological Cancer, Journal of Surgical Oncology, Genetics in Medicine and American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology, among others.
