Gregory Otterson, MD, is a member of the Translational Therapeutics Program at the OSUCCC – James, where his research focuses on thoracic malignancies.

In particular, he is interested in genetic and epigenetic changes in lung cancers. He also seeks to understand which patients will best respond to specific therapeutic maneuvers.

One of his recent studies revealed that patients with fewer than four brain metastases from non-small cell lung cancer or breast cancer, and who had only stereotactic radiosurgery, survived longer than patients who had whole-brain radiation therapy.

Dr. Otterson has co-authored many articles that have appeared in such well-respected journals as Clinical Lung Cancer, Cancer, Molecular Cancer and Journal of Clinical Oncology.
