Dr. McGinty’s research focuses on patient-reported outcomes across cancer survivorship including longitudinal patterns in health-related quality of life and symptom burden, cancer-related distress, health disparities and cultural factors, and the development and evaluation of psychosocial interventions in cancer patient populations. Her experience is in the following areas: a) cancer-related distress and fear of cancer recurrence, b) patient-reported outcomes and culture across cancer survivorship, c) development and evaluation of interventions for distress and symptom management in cancer, and d) systematic and meta-analytic reviews on symptoms during cancer treatment and survivorship (cognitive functioning, sleep, distress).
