Jian-Qiu Wu, PhD, is a member of the OSUCCC – James Molecular Biology and Cancer Genetics Program, where his research focuses on cellular processes related to the two defining characteristics of cancer: uncontrolled cell division and metastasis.
In particular, his work centers on the molecular mechanisms of cytokinesis and cellular wound healing in a model system using complementary approaches including genetics, quantitative microscopic imaging, cell biology, biochemistry and mathematical modeling. One of his recent research projects supports that F-BAR domains are necessary but not sufficient for plasma membrane targeting during cytokinesis.
Dr. Wu has co-authored several articles appearing in well-respected publications, including Science, Journal of Cell Biology, Developmental Cell and PLOS Biology.
