Joal Beane, MD, is a member of the Translational Therapeutics Program He is interested in investigating ways to enhance the efficacy of the adoptive transfer of tumor infiltrating lymphocytes for the treatment of metastatic solid tumors in humans. Dr. Beane hopes to identify novel targets for T cell based therapies through the identification of neo epitopes/antigens expressed on cancer cells that are capable of eliciting an immune response. He is also interested in how checkpoint inhibitors can influence endogenous TIL and if there are differences in TIL populations in primary versus metastatic lesions.
