Dr. Pyter’s research interests are to understand the basic mechanisms underlying cancer-induced changes in inflammatory processes in the brain and periphery. Specifically, using rodent models of breast and oral cancer to study the immune-mediated effects of peripheral tumors on 1) cognitive/affective-like behavior and associated changes in brain structure and physiology and 2) dermal and mucosal tissue repair.
