Lei Cao, PhD, is a member of the Molecular Biology and Cancer Genetics Program at the OSUCCC – James.Dr. Cao’s research has characterized a novel brain-fat axis underlying the antiobesity and anticancer phenotypes involved in a complex environment. She is using multidisciplinary approaches to further define this axis and identify molecular mediators. Her work in this area also is designed to foster genetic and pharmacological approaches to combat obesity, metabolic syndromes and cancer. Dr. Cao has authored or co-authored numerous articles appearing in well-known publications such as Cell, Nature Medicine, Nature Genetics and Cell Metabolism.
