Lynne Abruzzo, MD, PhD, is a member of the Leukemia Research Program at the OSUCCC – James, where she centers her research on low-grade B-cell leukemia and lymphoma, including chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). She is a co-holder of 17 patents in the United States and other countries for breast cancer resistance protein and the DNA that encodes it.

Dr. Abruzzo has used classical cytogenetic and newer genomic technologies to identify and combine prognostic markers to produce clinically relevant signatures for managing and treating patients with CLL.

She has shared her research in hundreds of peer-reviewed articles appearing in journals such as American Journal of Hematology, Cancer Genetics, Science, Cellular Immunology and Cancer Research. She also has served as a reviewer for numerous research publications, including Journal of Molecular Diagnostics, Blood and Leukemia & Lymphoma.

Dr. Abruzzo has presented on her research to organizations such as the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology, the American Society for Clinical Pathology, International Society for Laboratory Hematology and the U.S./European Alliance for the Therapy of Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia.
