Research Program

Molecular Carcinogenesis and Chemoprevention

I have 20 years of experience in cancer research. My research addresses how and why transcription is distorted in prostate and breast cancer with the goal to exploit this understanding in diagnostic, prognostic and therapeutic settings. To reach this goal, I have focused on nuclear hormone receptor signaling, and how epigenomic mechanisms selectively distort receptor transcription programs. I have formal training and strong research experience in both experimental cancer cell biology and bioinformatics. Therefore, I undertake functional genomic investigations that leverage data derived from experiments both in Eppendorf tubes and at the computer command line
