Paul Andreassen, PhD, is a member of the OSUCCC – James Molecular Biology and Cancer Genetics Program. He is based at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. His research focuses on the relationship of DNA repair and cell-cycle checkpoints to the genetic instability that underlies cancer development.
He studies basic cellular mechanisms that respond to DNA damage, including breast cancer susceptibility (BRCA) and Fanconi anemia (FA) genes and proteins. Recently, Dr. Andreassen co-authored a study in the Journal of Medical Genetics that yielded important insights into phenotypes related to FA and its genetic origins. He also has co-authored research appearing in other well-respected publications, including Blood, STEM CELLS and The Journal of Cell Biology.Office Location
