Samuel Kulp, DVM, PhD, is a member of the Molecular Carcinogenesis and Chemoprevention Program at the OSUCCC – James.

As a research scientist in The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy, Division of Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmacognosy, Dr. Kulp is part of a multidisciplinary drug-discovery team that focuses on developing small-molecule anticancer agents targeting kinase signaling, epigenetics, tumor metabolism and, more recently, cancer cachexia.

One of his recent studies suggested derivative (59) from antiproliferative and AMPK-activating activities offers clinical value in therapeutic strategies for PTEN-negative cancer.

Dr. Kulp has shared his research in many articles in well-respected publications, including Journal of Cellular Biochemistry, Cancer Research, Toxicologic Pathology and Neoplasia.
