Translational Therapeutics

A biomedical engineer, Xiaoming He, PhD, is a member of the OSUCCC – James Translational Therapeutics Program. His research has a variety of practical applications related to cancer treatment, transplantation, and regenerative and reproductive medicines.

Dr. He’s work focuses on developing novel micro- and nano-scale biomaterials and systems with great biocompatibility for improved drug, gene, cell and tissue delivery, as well as identifying energy-based approaches for minimally invasive ablation of diseased tissue in situ.

Some of his recently published research includes findings that show how administering a single dose of TGFß prior to oncolytic virus treatment of glioblastoma can transiently inhibit innate immune cells that limit efficacy, thus improving therapeutic responses and survival outcomes.

Dr. He has co-authored more than 50 articles appearing in well-respected journals, such as Nature, Nanomedicine, Advanced Materials and Cancer Research.
