Meet David Carbone, MD, PhD, a medical oncologist at the OSUCCC – James specializing in lung cancer. Dr. Carbone is not only committed to helping treat those diagnosed with cancer, but also to becoming a three-time rider in Pelotonia. This year, Dr. Carbone will ride 100 miles from Columbus to Gambier after raising $1,800 for cancer research at the OSUCCC – James. Read his story below: I am a cancer researcher dedicated to doing the translational science that develops and improves cancer therapies, and to studying patients and their tumors to better understand how cancer begins and evolves. I am also a cancer physician who tackles the cancer problem one patient at a time. Lastly, I am a cancer survivor who has undergone surgery, radiation and chemotherapy. I think The James is going to lead the fight against cancer in the next decade and needs the funding to do it. Pelotonia is an important step toward helping us reach our goal of reducing cancer morbidity and mortality. - David Carbone, MD, PhD Visit Pelotonia.org to learn more about the ride and to view additional rider stories.
