Tailored Treatments Alleviating Symptoms for Lymphedema Patients at Ohio State

Ohio State’s lymphedema team is tailoring treatments for patients to provide relief from painful swelling following cancer surgery.

While lymphedema – painful swelling that can occur after cancer treatment – can be difficult to treat, specialists at the OSUCCC – James are tailoring plans for patients to help them manage, and sometimes alleviate, symptoms through innovative therapies.

“One of the treatments we offer is to reroute the fluid into the vascular system – another set of pipes adjacent to the lymphatic system,” Roman Skoracki, MD, says.
