Overview
Music therapy involves specific, guided music experiences that can be used by participants as tools for change. This can include activities such as song writing, drumming, or music discussion and may be helpful for managing challenges such as stress, pain, or poor sleep.
At JamesCare for Life’s monthly music workshops, participants receive an introduction to evidence-based music therapy techniques and learn a variety of practical, music-based skills that they can apply in their daily lives. to evidence-based music therapy techniques and learn a variety of practical, music-based skills that they can apply in their daily lives. This month’s workshop will provide participant’s with basic information about lifestyle habits that impact sleep satisfaction, and to therapeutic music exercises designed to reduce mental noise and enhance relaxation as part of an effective bedtime routine.
No music experience is required. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing.
Facilitated by a board certified music therapist from The James.
Offered free of charge to adult cancer survivors and caregivers.
