More info forAs a member of the Cancer Biology Program at the OSUCCC – James, I focus my research on two cancer-related areas. First, I use electronic medical record data sources and medical informatics approaches to investigate risk factors (e.g., genomics and drug interactions) that predict either drug efficacy or adverse drug events.
I also use public domain cancer genomics and transcriptomics data, as well as system biology and system pharmacology approaches, to investigate cancer drug resistance and cancer metastasis mechanisms. In particular, my lab focuses on target identification and drug response prediction.
Although my informatics methodology research is not necessarily cancer specific, my current research investigates cancers of the breast, colon, liver and lung.
I have authored or co-authored several publications in peer-reviewed journals, including BMC Medical Genomics, Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics, and International Journal of Molecular Sciences.
