Ohio State research could point the way toward a natural way to decrease the chances of lung cancer. A specialized black raspberry nectar studied at The James was found to have a strong effect on the human immune system, which could help the human body play a greater role in cancer prevention. The nectar will be studied further in a diet-based trial, which could lead to future treatments and possible preventative benefits, says Daniel J. Spakowicz, PhD. “We think that black raspberries are going to change a person’s microbiome in such a way that it makes them less likely to develop lung cancer.”
