There is growing evidence that exercise plays an important role in improving quality of life, managing side effects of cancer treatment and reducing cancer risk. Exercise classes are offered on a rotating basis with new series starting monthly. Instructors demonstrate techniques that can be modified to all fitness levels. It is recommended that participants attend each week for maximum benefit. Participants may take each series one time. Aquatic Exercise
Aquatics offers low-impact movement in an indoor pool.
Balance Class
Classes are designed to improve balance and reduce the risk of falling.
Gentle Yoga
This series combines yoga poses, meditation and breath work. Participants will learn how to maintain correct posture and alignment by using appropriate modifications for a gentle form of yoga. Can be performed sitting or standing.
Low-Impact Cardio
This series offers low-impact aerobic exercises that can be performed either sitting or standing.
Stretch for Life
10-week series of gentle exercises, including yoga-inspired stretching, designed to improve flexibility, strength and balance. Breathing exercises are included.
Resistance Training
Classes are a form of exercise that uses resistance to strengthen and build muscle. That resistance can come from your body weight, resistance bands, hand weights or even household items.
Pilates
This series focuses on posture, core strength and flexibility using slow controlled and low impact exercises.
Nia
Set to music, Nia blends movement from dance arts, martial arts and healing arts with a mindful focus on body awareness/sensation. Is adaptable to all fitness levels and can be performed from a chair.
